AM PM Staffing Services is currently seeking skilled and motivated 1st Class Shipfitters to join our Houma shipyard team. If you have a strong background in ship fitting, possess relevant certifications, and are committed to delivering high-quality work, we invite you to apply and contribute to the success of our shipyard projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ship fitting tasks including layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal structures and components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise fitting.
• Use various tools and equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches, to complete ship fitting projects.
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets shipyard standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to use a blowing torch
• Proven experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter.
• Strong knowledge of ship fitting techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in the use of ship fitting tools and equipment.
• Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a recognized ship fitting apprenticeship program.
• Must be a 1st Class Shipfitter.
• Minimum [3] years of experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter.
• Must be able to use a blow torch.

Day & Night Shifts Available
(6:30am-3:30pm) OR (4pm-2am)
